Turner Ashby's Bryce Kiser Wins State Championship

Bryce Kiser, a junior at Turner Ashby High School, won the Virginia AA 135-pound wrestling title on March 8 at the Salem Civic Center. Kiser, the top ranked 135-pounder in Group AA by VirginiaWrestling.com, defeated Clay Cundiff of Northside High School in Roanoke with a 6-2 decision to capture the state championship.
“He’s a real athletic kid. He’s really competitive,” TA Head Coach Will Crockett told the Daily News-Record. “He’s very physically strong for his weight class.”
With the win, the TA wrestler ran his season record to 37-1 and extended his career record to 105-24.
The son of Keith and Teresa Kiser, Bryce has a younger brother, Luke, who wrestles for Turner Ashby's middle school program at Wilbur S. Pence Middle School.
Congratulations to Bryce and the TA Wrestling program!
