LEES Dedicates Track; Celebrates Field Day

Linville-Edom Track Dedication

On May 23, students, parents, staff, and guests officially dedicated the Linville-Edom Elementary track by thanking the parents, business partners, and community members who worked to make the track a reality.  Guests included Superintendent Dr. Carol Fenn, School Board Chairman Anthony Slater and School Board members Gayl Brunk and William Gamble.  Helping to cut the ribbon and officially open the track were business partners Dean Weaver of Irriturf Co., Andre’ Mast of Mast Landscapes, Randall Lam & Lam Enterprise, Frazier Quarry, Rittenhouse Automotive, Color Tile and Carpet, and Linville-Edom Ruritans.

One student from each class ran a portion of the track to the cheers of their classmates.  The ceremony ended with all the students yelling out a huge “Thank You” to  those who helped obtain the track.

An added attraction at their field day events was #55 Limited late model race car driven by John Skelly, assisted by Rick Dove. Ms. Karen Thomsen, LEES Principal, suited up and revved up the engine for all the students.
