REFI Golf Tournament Raises Money for RCPS Classrooms
With the support of 39 teams, 144 golfers, corporate and private sponsors, and more than 45 volunteers, including REFI board members and many teachers who had received REFI Innovative Idea Grants, the Rockingham Educational Foundation, Inc. held its 14th Annual Chip-In for Quality Schools Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 16, 2009.
"Mike Gooden and his team at Lakeview Golf Club were wonderful hosts for the day. We had lots of interest and participation at the 80-item silent auction. The weather was wonderful and everyone, including REFI, was a winner that day. My thanks to all of the players, sponsors, volunteers and everyone who cooperated to make it go so well," expressed Janet Wendelken, Executive Director of the Foundation.
The winner of the $1,000 raffle prize is Keith VanBenschoten, who works at The Interchange Group, one of REFI's corporate sponsors.
