SRES Collaborative Language Arts Team Presents at State Conferences

Collaboration Works!

The South River Elementary Collaborative Language Arts team presented to over 100 enthusiastic and engaged teachers and administrators at the 41st Annual Virginia State Reading Association Conference on March 13 in Richmond, Virginia. 

Jeanette Toohey, Christy Haag, and Michelle Crotteau described to the eager audience how South River created a 1:4 teacher student ratio in 3rd and 4th grade language arts which led to a 95% pass rate on the SOL reading test.

The team, including Vicki Holsinger and Jeanne Ford (pictured at right), presented at McGaheysville Elementary School and also presented for the Early Childhood Conference at James Madison University on April 19.
