Turner Ashby DECA Students Shine at State Leadership Conference

TURNER ASHBY DECA STUDENTS BRING HOME 1ST PLACE, TROPHIES FROM STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Turner Ashby DECA had sixteen students compete at the Virginia DECA State Leadership Conference in Norfolk, Virginia. The weekend was filled with competition and leadership development. Students at the conference competed in a variety of events spanning from Retail Marketing Research to Entrepreneurship.
Katie Baugher, Morgan Brown, Hallie Brunton, Craig Burkholder, Brittany Knight, Michelle Kosco, and Kyla Little placed in the Top Ten of their events and received medals. Hallie Brunton and Brittany Knight received first place in the state for their event. Baugher, Brown, and Kosco were runner ups in their competition areas and received trophies. These students advanced to the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from April 25-30, 2008.
Turner Ashby DECA also received a Preferred Chapter trophy for their annual report.
Other competitors included Kayla Alder, Evan Clark, Miranda Dove, Trey Foster, Jessica Finnigan, Megan Heatwole, Krystyne Mays, Sara Rieman, and Andrew Scordo.
