Parents of SRES students: Please take a few minutes and complete this online survey to indicate your feelings regarding the climate of SRES. We appreciate your feedback.
SRES was one of 92 schools in Virginia to receive the distinction as "Title I Distinguished School" for maintaining full state accreditation under the commonwealth's Standards of Learning program for two consecutive years, meeting federal benchmarks in reading and mathematics and having average test scores in both subjects at the 60th percentile or higher.
SRES PTA earned over $5,000, with about $2,000 coming from auction sales of class plates made by each class. View online photo album of the SRES Class Plates that were auctioned March 1.
Thanks to the efforts of Holtzman Oil Corp. and Bill Rahman of the EZ Food Mart in Grottoes, South River Elementary School has been awarded a $500 ExxonMobil Educational Alliance grant for math and science programs. The money will be used to purchase math and science materials for the classrooms. The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide Exxon retailers like Mr. Rahman with an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.

The students at South River have new basketball goals to enjoy thanks to some very special folks. Special thanks to the SRES PTA for their donation of $7,000 and the East Rockingham Sports Club for their donation of $1,000. We appreciate the volunteers who assisted in digging the holes for the goals.
