How to Obtain an Application for Employment

Rockingham County School Board Policy GCDA, Effect of Criminal Conviction or Founded Complaint of Child Abuse and/or Neglect, states that each employee and student teacher will pay for the cost of any fingerprinting ($37), criminal record check, and abuse and neglect check ($7). These fees are non-refundable. For additional information, see policy GCDA.

Administrator Positions (principals, assistant principals, coordinators, directors, and other related positions)

Applications for administrative positions must be completed online.  To complete an application, go to RCPS Application for Administrator Employment.

Licensed Positions (teachers, substitute teachers, counselors, psychologists, and other related positions)

Applications for licensed positions can only be completed online.  To complete an application, go to RCPS Application for Licensed Employment.

Qualifications for Substitute Teacher Employment

  • As a condition of substitute employment, all applicants shall attend one training/orientation session. Applicants must be pre-registered for this training.
  • The applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • The applicant must possess good moral character.
  • The applicant for substitute teacher must possess a diploma for an accredited high school or a General Education Development certificate.

 

Classified Positions (nurses, clerical, coaches, food service, classroom assistants, bus drivers, bus assistants, custodians, maintenance personnel, and other related positions)
